Apple event on October 18

Apple event called ‘Unleashed’ will be hosted on October 18. At the event, the company could finally announce the new, powerful M1X MacBook Pro. Rumours of the upcoming MacBook Pro models have leaked multiple times in the past. Apple is expected to unveil two new models. While we have seen the Pro MacBook come in 16-inch screen size, Apple is said to bump the screen size of the base model. Instead of a 13″ display, the upcoming MacBook Pro is rumored to feature a 14″ display. Both models are likely to feature a mini-LED display, which was first unveiled on the 12.9-inch iPad Pro earlier this year.

The Brand New “M1X chip”

The 13-inch MacBook Pro, 24-inch iMac and MacBook Air all use Apple’s custom M1 silicon. The chipset is fast, consumes less power and offers long battery life. But M1 was just the first time showcasing what Apple’s Silicon team can achieve. The M1X or whatever it’s called won’t  replace the original M1 processor. Instead, the chipset will replace higher-end Macs that are currently on the market…the 16-inch MacBook Pro and the Intel Mac mini. The exact specifications of the M1X aren’t known but we do know that the new chipset will have more processor cores, more GPU cores, support for more external monitors, etc. A report last year claimed that this new high-performance chip will offer as many as 16 performance cores and either 16 or 32 GPU cores compared to seven or eight cores available in M1.

AirPods 3? May be

Apple could also announce the long-rumoured AirPods third-generation at the event on October 18. The budget AirPods is said to get a major redesign for the first time since inception. It will come with an AirPods Pro-like design with a shorter stem. However, there might not be support for Active Noise Cancellation (ANC).

There is no official word from Apple and we will know more details only on October 18.
